About The Owner
Harold Hilborn is the owner-operator of Holy Hammer Ironworks has over 40 years’ experience. He started his welding and custom metal fabrication career, in Cheboygan Area High School Vocational Welding Program in 1977. After graduation he attended the AAS Degree Program at Ferris State University in Welding Technology. He then proceeded into the workforce as a welder. In 1988 he was accepted into the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Union as an apprentice. In 1997 He began his journey into learning the forgotten craft of being a Blacksmith. In 2007 he ended a 17-year career with Caid Industries a Samuel Company as their Welding Supervisor, ASNT II Welding Inspector, Welding Instructor and lead man to start Holy Hammer Ironworks.
Holy Hammer Ironworks is a small company where all work is performed by Harold. He has a very well-equipped welding shop where he combines his skills with modern technology, and technology from the past to create functional art, fabricate custom projects and repair your items. Over the years he has earned numerous welding certifications and qualifications to AWS D.1-1 Structural Codes and ASME XI Pressure Vessel and Pipping Codes. They cover all major welding processes, on plate, pipe, ferrous, non-ferrous and exotic metals.
